I called this years ago...

This was bound to happen sooner or later and I called this years ago. My friend and I were at a the Trop witnessing yet another beating of our then Devil Rays. I think at the time it was the seventh in a row.

Somewhere around the 3rd or 4th inning the "KISS CAM" shows up on the jumbo screen and immediately I turn to my friend and say, "Dude, if you even pretend to try and kiss me just to be funny, I'm going to smash my nachos in your face" jokingly said of course, but I think I was half serious. First couple, kiss, second couple, kiss and so on for a few more, then...two guys! No kiss everyone laughs and thankfully he and I were not on the screen. That's when I say, "One day there are going to pick the wrong two guys". Which leads me to this...

Seattle Washington:

A semi-famous lesbian couple enjoyed a brief peck on the lips at a recent Mariner game and were met with a swift and angry reaction from stadium security. Sirbrina Guerrero, the offender pictured on the cover of May's issue of DList, is currently a contestant on MTV's Shot at Love 2 With Tila Tequila. And the at least one mom at Safeco field is not a fan.

"(The security guard said) the mom doesn't want to explain to the kids why two girls are kissing. So I said 'well, I'm not going to stop, so you'll have to kick me out. So he said 'so I suggest you leave then,"' she said.

They didn't get kicked out, despite Safeco's code of conduct's note that "displays of affection are not appropriate in a public family setting."

Sad, but maybe now we need to re-think the use of "KISS CAM" and just use a Man and Woman situation because I agree with the lady. I don't want to have to explain to my kids why two guys or girls are kissing on the screen. I really wouldn't be that upset if they just got rid of the whole thing, however I would miss the awkward moment of two guys who aren't into each other looking at each other with the "Don't even think about" look on their faces.

Memorial Day

While you're out there enjoying the beach, BBQ's and all the other summer fun God has given us. Just remember what this day really means.

Memorial Day is much more than a three-day weekend that marks the beginning of summer. To many people, especially the nation's thousands of combat vets this day, which has a history stretching back all the way to the Civil War, is an important reminder of those who died in the service of their country.

I have friends serving in Iraq and overseas and what people fail to think about is that over this weekend, while we celebrate with family and friends many of our nations service men and woman are away from their families and their friends defending our freedom. Take a moment and say a quick prayer for their protection and safe return and enjoy the weekend they defend for you and I.

Pray for those who serve and enjoy your 3-Day weekend! I'll be at the beach if you need me!

Day of Blessing

Today was an awesome day!

It was our Day of Blessing at Spirit FM. A chance for you to call and just rant and rave about what GOD has done in your life maybe through Spirit FM or by other means.

Basically a chance to encourage people by letting them know that GOD IS GOOD AND HE IS STILL OUT THERE!

It was so awesome to hear from so many of you. Stories of redemption, hope, faithfulness, love, grace and victory! I love to hear those stories because it's such a beautiful reminder that God loves us and he's not sitting on some galactic throne a gazillion miles away sipping on a latte forgetting about us. God loves us so much if we would only trust and believe in him and really let him BE GOD over our lives.

A verse I love to read is Proverbs 3:5-6:

Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandings, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

Really learn to put all your trust and all your heart in Gods hands. Let him really be God over your life and trust me you will see the miraculous saving grace that only He can provide really take action in your life. Our God is alive and mighty to save. So let him.

Welcome

Ok, so I'm going to try and blog daily after the show and spend some time on either stuff we covered during the day or stuff we couldn't get to. I hope you enjoy my takes...

FIRST.

American Idol: D v D

DA, should win based on last nights performances however according to dialidol DC will be the next American Idol. We'll all find out tonight! GO DA! As a side note my wife and I tried calling for the better part of an hour last night and we each casted one vote. Mine for DA, hers for DC. It was a house divided last night during AI.

Something I've been meaning to get to but I haven't been able to is Tony Romo. AKA Tony "Out of Tune-O" Check out this AMAZING video of Tony at Wrigley Field.

WOW! Now I believe that God gives everyone talents in life and his can clearly be seen every Sunday during the football season. One talent God didn't bless Romo with was singing. But good for him. He always wanted to sing at Wrigley and he got his chance and will now live on in viral video history for years to come. Atta Boy Tony!

Hope you enjoyed the show today! Take care and God BLESS!!!
